Chris presented alongside attorney Ilene Glickman, who covered the Maryland legislative session, including the revised custody factors and updates to the child support statute.
Why the Annual Update Matters
Family law in Maryland does not sit still. A single reported opinion can change how an issue is argued for years, and legislative amendments take effect on schedules that do not wait for practitioners to notice them. The deed question is a useful example: whether a marital settlement agreement alone transfers title, or whether a deed must actually be executed, determines whether a client owns the property they believe they own — and the answer surfaces at the worst possible moment if it was handled wrong at the time of settlement.
