Five Jurisdictions, Five Judges
As BCBA Family Law Committee Chair, Alexis brought together family law attorneys from Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Howard County, Harford County, and Carroll County for a candid evening with five circuit court judges:

- Hon. Myshala E. Middleton — Baltimore City
- Hon. Fred S. Hecker — Carroll County
- Hon. Alex M. Allman — Harford County
- Hon. Mary S. Kramer — Howard County
What the Bench Had to Say
The judges spoke frankly about what they want to see from attorneys in their courtrooms, discussed the administrative impact of Houser, and offered practical guidance on serving families more effectively.
For practitioners who appear across jurisdictions, that perspective is difficult to get any other way. Procedure and expectations vary meaningfully from one circuit court to the next, and an attorney who assumes Baltimore County practice translates cleanly to Howard or Carroll County will find out otherwise — usually at their client’s expense. Hearing five benches describe their own expectations in the same room is worth a great deal.
