Alexis L. Holiday Named Chair of the BCBA Family Law Committee
Alexis L. Holiday will serve as Chair of the Baltimore County Bar Association’s Family Law Committee for the 2025–2026 bar year.
About the Committee
The BCBA Family Law Committee is the professional home for family law practitioners in Baltimore County. Its work centers on continuing legal education and on maintaining the working relationship between the family law bar and the bench. As Chair, Alexis will lead the committee’s programming for the year and serve as a point of contact between Baltimore County family law attorneys and the court.
Programming for the 2025–2026 Bar Year
The committee’s slate for the year:
- The impact of Houser on child support — how the decision changes the analysis in practice
- Child support administration — working with the administrative process and the agencies that run it
- QDROs — drafting and qualifying domestic relations orders, and the mistakes that surface years later
- The Multi-Jurisdictional Family Law Dinner — practitioners and circuit court judges from Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Howard, Harford, and Carroll counties, continuing a tradition the committee has hosted for years
- The annual Legislative and Case Law Update — the year’s reported family law decisions and the legislation passed during the General Assembly session
The through-line is practical. Child support administration and QDROs are areas where a technically correct order can still fail the client if the mechanics are wrong, and where the consequences do not surface until enforcement or retirement. The multi-jurisdictional dinner addresses a different problem: practitioners who appear across county lines need to know how expectations differ from one bench to the next, and there are few settings where five courts will say so directly.
About Alexis L. Holiday
Alexis also serves on the Maryland State Bar Association’s Family Law Section Council as an At Large Section Member. Her practice at TNS Family Law focuses on contested custody, divorce, marital property, and post-judgment litigation, including appellate matters.
