What It Means to Be an AAML Fellow
Founded in 1962, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers is a national organization of family law attorneys with chapters across the country. Fellowship is not automatic. To apply, an attorney must have been admitted to the bar for at least seven years, and at least 75% of their practice must have been devoted to matrimonial and family law for the five years before applying. Applicants then go through a review and examination process set by the Academy and its state chapters.
For clients, working with an AAML Fellow means working with an attorney whose practice has been concentrated in family law for years and who has been reviewed by peers in the field.
