AAML Fellows Mary Sanders and Rebecca Fleming Attend the 2026 National Family Law Conference

TNS Family Law partners Mary Roby Sanders and Rebecca A. Fleming recently attended the 2026 American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) National Family Law Conference in Las Vegas.

What AAML Fellowship Means

Both Mary and Becky are Fellows of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers — a distinction held by a small fraction of family law practitioners nationally. Fellowship is by invitation and requires substantial trial experience in matrimonial matters, peer and judicial endorsement, and examination. As AAML Fellows in Maryland, they belong to a group specifically vetted for depth of experience in complex divorce and custody litigation.

Continuing Education With a Forward-Looking Focus

The conference offered continuing legal education with a practical bent. Sessions covered the ethical and effective use of AI in family law practice, protecting law firms from cybersecurity threats, business valuation issues, anticipated tax law changes, strategies for high-net-worth divorce cases, and the particular challenges of gray divorce.

Those topics are not abstract for a practice like ours. Business valuation and tax treatment drive outcomes in marital property disputes, and gray divorce raises retirement and long-term support questions that look nothing like a case involving young children.
